Ya han pasado casi 25 años desde el estreno de "Waterworld", la distopía posapocalíptica protagonizada por Kevin Costner y Jeanne Tripplehorn, y que tuvo como villano al recordado actor Dennis Hopper, fallecido en 2010.
La cinta también tuvo entre sus estrellas principales a una niña de solo 10 años. La actriz Tina Majorino fue la encargada de interpretar a Enola, la pequeña que tiene tatuado en su cuerpo el mapa para llegar a tierra firme, el paraíso para los pocos humanos que quedan en el planeta, que en ese futuro está rodeado de agua por todas partes.
Un año antes, en 1994, Majorino había sido la pequeña protagonista de "Corina, Corina", y también hija del personaje de Meg Ryan en "Cuando un hombre ama a una mujer".
Entre sus papeles posteriores más destacados, en 1999 fue la estrella de una versión televisiva de "Alicia en el país de las maravillas".
En cine no llegaría a consolidar una gran carrera. Solo un largometraje memorable a citar, con 19 años, el título de culto "Napoleon Dynamite" estrenado en 2004. También doblaría su personaje de Deb en la serie de animación de seis episodios de 2012.
Luego participó en proyectos cinematográficos que no tuvieron éxito, como "Think Tank", "What We Do is Secret" o "Should’ve Been Romeo". Pero en la televisión encontró un espacio que le resultó ideal para sus ambiciones.
Desde 2006 participa en "Big Love", ha estado en algunos episodios de "Bones", en la quinta temporada de "True Blood" y la novena de "Grey's Anatomy", en la que interpretó a la doctora Heather Brooks. Su estancia en el hospital Grey Sloan Memorial de Seattle terminó a principios de la décima temporada.
También participó en "Veronica Mars" (otra de sus interpretaciones más importantes como Cindy 'Mac' Mackenzie). O en "Legends" y, más recientemente, entre los supergenios de "Scorpion" (en su temporada final, la cuarta), publica Cinemanía.
